Once the lemon dries, the smell should pretty much be gone. Washing your faux leather is often enough to remove the lingering fish smell.
This method is most effective when the scent is still fresh, like when you first take it out of the package. I know washing leather makes people a little uncomfortable for fear of ruining it. But faux leather is more tolerant to washing than genuine leather items. I always use a small amount of mild soap and water.
For the best results, use a sponge with a scrubbing side and give it a thorough scrub all over. Cedar blocks are great at removing moisture and people often placed them in the closets or in areas of the room that have a high level of humidity.
Cedar blocks will leave a refreshing smell on your leather items but they are really only covering up the smell while the gas dissipates.
